Chelsea agree new shirt sponsor deal worth £40m a season

Chelsea have agreed a deal for a new shirt sponsor for the next three years.

Yokohama Tyres have had a good run, picking up a title win, a Europa League and an FA Cup for their cash in their time on the front of the famous royal blue shirt.

Now it’s the turn of telecoms company “3”, who will have the next three seasons to begin with.  Chelsea announced the new deal today on their official website.

Liam Twomey of the Athletic was at the manager’s press conference ahead of the Hull game tomorrow, and there he picked up on the snippet that the deal is going to be similar in value to the £40m a year Yokohama deal.

To be honest, money is just money, it doesn’t affect us too much. What matter much more is how the logo looks on the shirts. We’ll have to wait another couple of months before those leaks start coming.
