Frank Lampard cut a frustrated figure in front of the cameras at Cobham this afternoon as he delivered his latest press conference.
The interview itself was the shortest I have every seen and ended rather abruptly, Lampard was giving short answers and was clearly frustrated to report that Chelsea’s transfer window was now 95% shut, despite remaining diplomatic.
*95%
… that 5% is probably just loanees and Lamptey joining Brighton. #CFC— Nizaar Kinsella (@NizaarKinsella) January 31, 2020
Lampard has been quite vocal about needing to improve his attacking areas during this window, but he must now face the prospect of continuing his season without reinforcements as the Chelsea board have failed to deliver once again.
But unless there are any late surprises, there will be no new players arriving at The Bridge today, and Olivier Giroud will also be staying.
Chelsea fans have been giving their reactions on Twitter and are naturally quite annoyed by the fact that the club can’t even seem to back a club legend at the helm…
Can’t even back a club legend, the one manager they claimed was the catalyst for change at this club.
Hung out to dry. Feel sorry for him.#CFC pic.twitter.com/jGmkJVAd4d

Dear @ChelseaFC,
No matter what fans did or didn’t want this January, it’s clear you’ve disappointed your manager. And fair play, you’re quite good at that.
You’ve been more or less hyping up this summer for spending, ok then…
Pressure. Is. On.
Disappointed,

Frank has been let down by the club. What a shame.

If anyone defends the Board over Frank Lampard our greatest ever player. You aren’t a Chelsea Fan.
Lampard has the same expectations as when he was here & he’s just proven the standards dropped. He asked for Short Term (Loans) #FailedToBackFrank #CFC

That's that then….the board have let lamps down big time, if they can't back a club legend they aren't going to back anyone, absolutely embarrassing

Chelsea’s last 3 managers :
Conte – Won the league, failed to back him with his main targets, Lukaku, Sandro etc.
Sarri – T3, EL, wanted assurances from the board, didn’t get it so left.
Frank – T4, wanted 1 ST in a whole month, didn’t get it.
How long until enough is enough?

You can tell he’s not happy but he still just handles it with such class. https://t.co/kIr6zdAQrT

Chelsea have officially let down Frank Lampard. Just deep how that sounds. Read that sentence and then reread it again. A club legend, club's highest Goalscorer, couldn't get a simple request all month.
Frank. Lampard. Hasn't. Been. Backed.
I'm fuming, you should be too.

Chelsea need a Director of Football, so that transfers and transfer strategies aren’t left to the last minute.
There needs to be distribution of power, not replacement of executives that formerly had nothing to do with transfers.

No signings – our transformation to Wenger's latter year Arsenal is complete.
