Chelsea battled hard against Newcastle today, but ended up losing to a last minute goal.
It wasn’t what we deserved frankly. We dominated the game and created all of the chances, and it was just some sloppy defending that cost us dearly at the end.
There were actually some impressive performances on the pitch, especially from Reece James, who earned huge plaudits for another aggressive performance from right back.
As always, we collected the hottest takes from Twitter to sum up how we thought each player played. As you might expect, they’re pretty negative overall, and there’ some pretty spicy ones in there too. Some have totally run out of patience with some of these players.
Kepa:
Kepa Arrizabalaga is quite simply not good enough.
A bang average goalkeeper with glass wrists and who should be nowhere near a team aspiring for top 4.
Crazy to think how much Chelsea paid for him.

James:
Reece James is easily the best talent in this Chelsea team, it's not even an exaggeration. How can I right back get me this gassed, unbelievable player man

Christensen:
James & Christensen again we’re brilliant & only ones that showed any quality or calmness

Jorginho:
Jorginho being Mr Ball Progression is the greatest myth ever told. Willian, Mount and Reece have to baby sit him to get the ball forward.

Kante:
Chelsea have had almost 75 percent possession, so what are you saying? Kante should run around disposing his teammates? https://t.co/oT2d7vbdSq

Hudson-Odoi:
Another game, and more assists robbed from Hudson-Odoi and Reece James.

Abraham:
Tammy Abraham isn’t good enough and never will be.
