It’s been a long old season for Chelsea’s medical team, who spent the summer working hard to get Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek back from long term injuries.
There were then problems for Antonio Rudiger, N’Golo Kante and Emerson which all proved tricky to shake off, along with numerous other small niggles.
With the return of Rudiger to action last week, we finally see everything in position, with the exception of Loftus-Cheek. But even he is almost back, and according to Frank Lampard’s comments in the press conference today, he’s “making good progress” and will be ready before long, although in comments recorded by Nizaar Kinsella of Goal.com from the press conference at Cobham today, he insisted that the academy product is still “nowhere near” match fitness.
Lampard on injuries: "Loftus-Cheek is making good progress which is good but nowhere near match fitness." Everyone else is fit. #CFC

So while it will be some time still, we are in the final stretch now, and soon a fully fit squad will be at the new manager’s disposal for the first time.
