Journalist drops hint of a possible Arsenal and Chelsea striker swap deal

As expected as the transfer window opens in just one day, the rumours are heating up, some absurd, some realistic, but its always entertaining!

Chelsea are well in the thick of things after being cleared to sign players in January, and there have been countless names being linked with a move to the club as Frank Lampard searches for potential reinforcements.

Interestingly, the attacking areas is somewhere that Lampard could look to add quality to, and one player who could be available for a surprise transfer is Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who reportedly wants to leave Arsenal.

Ian McGarry, a former football journalist turned transfer podcast host, made the Aubameyang claims yesterday on his podcast that he co-hosts with another transfer guru Duncan Castles, The Transfer Window Podcast.

And as reported by popular Chelsea transfer account Chelstransfer, McGarry also mentioned that Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud would be open to staying in London and moving back to Arsenal.

This of course sparked debate for an Aubameyang and Giroud swap deal, however unlikely that might seem to most.
