Jorginho blames Chelsea’s bad finishing after defeat to West Ham

Chelsea were defeated 1-0 by West Ham on Saturday, and a variety of people have taken the blame.

Some have said Frank Lampard was at fault for his team selection, and Lampard’s captain Jorginho had something to say on the matter of who was at fault, at least in part, for the loss.

And Jorginho’s comments, as recorded in the Daily Express, left nobody in doubt as to who he thought had to take some of the blame:

“Tired? I don’t think so,” he said when asked if fatigue from midweek’s exertions in Spain had affected the team.

“Maybe yes, but we created some chances and we did not score when we should and I think that is the problem.

“You can create so many chances and when you create you have to score.”

It is true that we did badly in finding the onion bag, but we didn’t really make all the chances that Jorginho seems to be going on about.

In fact, given he contribute 0 key passes in the game and made no shots at all, he might want to think about his own usefulness in trying to break down a historically flimsy West Ham team.
