“He has to get his head down and work” – Lampard demands more from Hudson-Odoi

Chelsea have just lost 2-0 to Southampton, in game where the Blues struggled to create much and looked totally lost from the moment the Saints scored.

Frank Lampard has just had his post match flash interview, and he was clearly very unhappy with what happened – as though that needs saying. He was asked about the form of Callum Hudson-Odoi, whom he had trusted to start today.

The winger disappointed, and Lampard admitted he had to keep working to improve. But he also insisted he would continue to give the 18 year old chances, as indicated in his post match comments picked up by WAGNH.

It was was a real surprise to see Christian Pulisic not be the man called up to play opposite Willian, and CHO did nothing to improve his chances of keeping that faith next time.

Lampard may insist he’s still got faith in him, and there’s no doubt we will see more of him in a busy season, but once again he didn’t manage to remind his fans why he was so highly rated a year ago.
