Frank Lampard reveals when he will decide if Tammy Abraham is fit

Frank Lampard has just given his latest press conference ahead of tomorrow night’s match with Aston Villa, and the Chelsea boss revealed some vital injury news with regard to Tammy Abraham.

The Chelsea striker left the game against Valencia a week ago injured, and while the problem was later revealed to be more of a contact injury than anything else, it’s still not clear if he will be ready tomorrow. He’s clearly still in pain, and while Lampard didn’t rule anything out, it’s obviously a last minute call on his part, as we found out from Nizaar Kinsella’s quotes from the Chelsea boss’ press conference:

We missed Tammy hugely against West Ham at the weekend, and missing him again tomorrow could be another hammer blow to our top 4 chances. Spurs play Manchester United at the same time, so picking up 3 points is vital to keep both those teams at bay.

Missing our in form number 9 would be the worst possible start – but playing him unless he’s fully fit could also be a terrible move.
