Chelsea have just suffered another shocking defeat, this time to Bournemouth at home, and Frank Lampard had to face some pretty tough questions after the game.
The Chelsea boss was given one potential excuse – tiredness after another draining midweek game against Lille in the Champions League.
But in quotes posted by Goal.com’s Nizaar Kinsella, the Blues boss refused to rely on that as a reason.
Lampard: "I don't hang onto tiredness, it is a possible factor, but I don't want to say it now."
"West Ham organised and stopped us playing, Everton, Bournemouth."
Adds, there's stress in the stadium in these home games.#CFC #CHEBOU

He does admit it’s a possibility, but it’s not a good excuse. Yes we played in midweek, but that was a home game too. It’s not like we were flying to Baku or something as we did regularly last season.
Not only that, but also let’s bear in mind that the Christmas schedule is only just beginning. If he starts blaming tiredness now, it just opens the door for further similar excuses down the line.
We were bad today, tired or not. We were bad from the first minute, when we were at our freshest. There’s more to this than midweek games, and Frank has confirmed that.
