Chelsea’s transfer shortlist according to the main UK media outlets

Chelsea are targeting a host of new players as they today received the news that they are able to sign players again in January.

The news arrived from the Court of Arbitration for Sport that Chelsea’s ban had been halved, meaning they would be able to enter the buying market this winter.

Frank Lampard has strongly hinted that the club will enter the market in January, and will always look to improve if the player fits.

So, who will they look to bring in?

We have taken a look at the three main UK sources who have proven reliability for reporting Chelsea transfer news.

The Telegraph (Matt Law) –

They claim that Chelsea have £150 million to spend in January, and link the following players.

Wilfried Zaha, Jadon Sancho, Moussa Dembele, Ben Chilwell, and Nathan Ake.

Goal (Nizaar Kinsella) –

Kinsella says “Chelsea are willing to spend big but the emphasis will be very much on quality over quantity, particularly as they want to ensure that the path to the first team remains clear now that it has been finally unblocked by Lampard’s arrival.”

He lists some of the same players as The Telegraph, plus more..

Wilfried Zaha, Jadon Sancho, Ben Chilwell, Nathan Ake, Sander Berge, Kai Havertz and Timo Werner all as potential targets.

The Athletic (Simon Johnson and Liam Twomey) –

They claim “Frank Lampard wants to improve this squad and has been actively involved in recruitment discussions with the director Marina Granovskaia, technical and performance advisor Petr Cech and Scott McLachlan, the club’s head of international scouting.”

They also list some familiar names..

Wilfried Zaha, Jadon Sancho, Ben Chilwell, and Timo Werner.

I’m sure we will be hearing many more names thrown into the mix yet, like the below one from another reliable reporter Nicolo Schira..
