Chelsea losing ground in chase for Europe’s hottest transfer prospect

Lampard-on-Sancho

Jadon Sancho is going to be perhaps the hottest player on the market this summer, and if some sources are to be believed, he could even move in January.

We have our doubt about that. Dortmund aren’t under that much pressure to sell, and they will want to keep the winger around for the rest of the season if they can. He may even be keen to see out the Bundesliga title race himself too.

If and when he makes the move, the Premier League looks a likely destination, and Chelsea have regularly been named as a potential destination. However, the Daily Mirror today report that Man United now fancy themselves as in “pole position” ahead of us to snap him up.

We’ve got no doubt they will be among our top competition for the wonderkid, and they have the cash to buy anyone they like. But honestly, Frank Lampard’s superb youth project, and the massive wedge of cash we can easily spend this year, makes it hard for us to believe we’re out of the race yet.
