Chelsea defender will not be ready to play against Bournemouth

Fikayo Tomori has had a superb breakthrough campaign, but his niggling hip issue will keep him out for at least one more game, according to Frank Lampard in his press conference just now.

Nizaar Kinsella of Goal.com had the confirmation from the manager that the defender wasn’t going to be ready for tomorrow’s game.

That’s not the only question mark at the back either. Antonio Rudiger played in midweek after a long time out, and it seems questionable whether he will be risked again.

That means we could see Kurt Zouma and Andreas Christensen line up as the latest pairing in a back 4 that has shifted constantly all year. It’s no wonder we’ve struggled for clean sheets when we can’t get a consistent selection going ahead of Kepa.

Let’s hope Tomori can shake off this problem soon, and Rudiger can get back in the groove quickly, so Lampard can finally nail down his ideal back line and move towards a more solid structure in defence.
