BREAKING: Chelsea allowed to sign players after CAS reduces transfer ban

Chelsea will be able to sign players in the winter transfer window next month after the Court of Arbitration for sport decided to reduce their ban to one window – already served this summer.

The BBC were among the first to report the excellent news, which will allow Frank Lampard to strengthen his squad in January, and also opens the way for wantaway players to leave too.

The club were given the ban in the spring after FIFA decided that they had committed 150 rule breaches over several seasons. CAS upheld this ruling, but decided that the violations were “for a significantly smaller number of players”, amounting to “a third of the violations found by FIFA.”

Now a new question arises – how wise would it be to spend big, when things are going so well with this group of academy players? There is a risk we end up blowing up the whole project which is going so well.

However with Frank at the helm, we trust only smart decisions and signings will be made, and the academy core will remain an important part of the team.
