Barcelona are ‘eyeing up’ a move for former Chelsea winger Jeremie Boga, according to The Daily Mail.
They even claim that Barcelona chiefs have met with Sassuolo chiefs to discuss a transfer of the 22-year old.
Boga came through Chelsea’s world famous youth academy but was sold to Sassuolo in 2018 for £3.5 million, as per the Mail’s report.
Chelsea though, clearly saw something in the Ivory Coast international and The Mail report that they have a buyback clause inserted in the sale.
Since he has now caught the eye of Barcelona after scoring 14 goals in just 10 appearances so far this season, the report speculates that this may now encourage Chelsea to use their buyback clause, especially due to the fact they seem to be in the market for wingers this January.
It certainly isn’t an unrealistic shout, Chelsea would have put that clause in there for a reason, and they will certainly be monitoring this situation closely.
