Alonso a “priority” for Inter Milan as interest in Spaniard appears to grow

Lots of Chelsea fans have lost patience with Marcos Alonso gradually over the last couple of years, as his previous good form has evaporated, but that hasn’t stopped interest from elsewhere.

We’ve seen Atletico Madrid linked with the former Fiorentina man in recent weeks, and now Inter Milan are said to be chasing him too.

CalcioMercato are reporting that the Italian side are making the left wing back a “priority” to sign in January as they look to give Antonio Conte every possible weapon to challenge for the Serie A title.

That would suit Chelsea, one would imagine. He’s well down the pecking order right now, with Emerson first choice and Cesar Azpilicueta able to play on the left. Selling Alonso while he’s still got decent value looks like a very simple and smart move.

If they want to buy, and Frank Lampard is happy to let him go, there will never be a better time to cash in.
