“I wanted to come here and be brave” – Lampard responds to Guardiola praise

Chelsea put in a brave performance against Manchester City at the Etihad today, and while it’s not what Frank Lampard wants to hear after a loss, his team were really impressive for long periods, pushing the champions back.

This was put to him at the start of the press conference – the impressive stat that his team had more possession against a Pep Guardiola team than anyone else in history.

Lampard, as always, was looking for where to improve, but even he couldn’t deny his boys had gone for it.

“I wanted to come here and be brave,” he admitted, before explaining how it was just a few moments in both boxes that changed the game.
