(Video): Olivier Giroud now France’s third top scorer after penalty

Olivier Giroud has just bagged a penalty for France, keeping up his good form for his country despite not featuring for Chelsea much this season.

Didier Deschamps has continued to pick Giroud and consider him a key member of the first XI for the rest of his side to build around, as well as an important dressing room character.

Frank Lampard has enjoyed those intangibles, while actually just sticking with Tammy – who also scored tonight – up front for him.

It makes Giroud France’s third all time top scorer, after Michel Platini and Thierry Henry. That’s some record, and he can still go higher, as he’s obviously in Deschamps’ plan.
