Tammy Abraham’s dreams for this year are huge – but not unrealistic

Tammy Abraham is not short of confidence, but then how could you be in his situation? The striker was playing in the Championship a year ago. After scoring a hatload for Aston Villa last season and helping them get promoted to the Premier League, Tammy returned to Chelsea and immediately placed himself in Frank Lampard’s first team plans.

Since then he’s gone from strength to strength, scoring steadily in the Premier League, getting his first European goals and now, last night, his first England goal.

After that rise, who could blame him for being confident of what he can achieve in the next six months? And he’s not holding back either. In quotes in the Daily Mail from after the end of the England game, Abraham was asked what the next year has in store for him:

“Being at the Euros, winning it, top four or top two in the Premier League. Just believing! The sky’s the limit.”

He’s got every right to think those things are achievable, and if he keeps scoring he can take his teams a long way towards those aims.
