It’s Friday, which means Sky pundit Charlie Nicholas has just unleashed his predictions for us to all pore over.
Chelsea aren’t on TV this week, which feels odd after a long televised run. We’re back in the Saturday 3pm slot for the first time in a while, with opposition coming in the form of struggling West Ham.
We’re two games without a win now, after a loss to Man City last weekend and a thrilling draw with Valencia in midweek, so it would be no surprise to see the Hammers tipped to pick up a surprise point.
But in the end, Nicholas has played it safe in calling a 2-0 win. He points out that “West Ham is Frank Lampard’s old club, Chelsea like to turn over West Ham, and I can’t see anything else.”
Frankly, he’s probably right We should be cautious over a trap game like this, but also acknowledge we’re big favourites.
