Emerson has appeared to suffer the mysterious ‘injury bug’ going around Chelsea right now.
It happens when a player returns from injury, to then suffer a further complication and is out injured even longer as a result.
Antonio Rudiger and N’Golo Kante have both suffered the same fate this season and have become injury prone. Let’s hope the same doesn’t happen to Emerson who in my view, is one of the best left backs in the league.
In his absence Marcos Alonso has been back in the starting eleven. Now although he has filled in and done alright in the role, for me he just doesn’t bring enough to the modern day full back position and will always be just an average player.
Wrongfully he receives hate, and I don’t condone this for any of our players. But it fully excites me to see Emerson posting on Twitter saying that he is ‘ready for tomorrow’ the day before we face Watford, and many Chelsea fans agree….
Please, come and save us from Alonso.
