Pundit advises that defender is given “time off” after being destroyed by Pulisic

It’s Monday, which can mean only one thing – football bloggers eagerly reaching for their laptops to see who Garth Crooks has put in his team of the week.

Chelsea are on a strong run of form in the Premier League, which means a strong run of players in Crooks’ legendary BBC lineup, and this week is no different, with two Blues included in the XI.

Willian is chosen in the midfield 3 (a relatively sensible move by Crooks’ standards), while Christian Pulisic is up front. The American had another great game, bringing tons of attacking threat down the left and getting his reward with the goal that sealed the game.

Crooks was full of praise for him, including claiming that Crystal Palace right back “should be given time off to get over the runaround Christian Pulisic gave him at Stamford Bridge.

We’re not sure we’d go that far, but we get the implication. Pulisic was indeed exceptional, and Ward won’t be looking forward to coming up against him in the reverse fixture, that’s for sure.
