Christian Pulisic was riding high on a wave of great form for Chelsea in recent weeks, so much so that when he withdrew from US duty for this international break, it was assumed it was all a ruse to keep him fresh for Chelsea’s upcoming games.
We didn’t think it was a totally fake injury – Frank Lampard said he had a slight problem – but we imagined he talked it up to ensure that his player missed international duty.
However the latest word from the Sun is that the winger has an actual issue and may now be a doubt for this weekend’s game with Man City.
That would be a massive blow for us, as his pace is likely to be our most effective weapon on the counter attack against Pep Guardiola’s team. There’s still plenty of time for CP to recover, let’s hope this is all another smokescreen from the manager.
