Olivier Giroud wanted by ex-Chelsea boss Conte

It’s the middle of the final winter international break, and everyone is just bursting to talk about Jose Mourinho after his explosive move to Tottenham.

But while everyone is talking about one former Chelsea manager, another is apparently ready to make his move to bring one of his former players to his own new team.

Antonio Conte is just getting settled in at Inter Milan, but he’s already got his eyes on Olivier Giroud, according to the Sun.

They report that the France international is a top target for Conte, who was behind bringing him to Chelsea two Januaries ago.

He quickly became first choice under Conte, before gradually losing that status under Maurizio Sarri and now being a definite third choice for Frank Lampard.

He will have to compete with Romelu Lukaku for minutes there, which won’t be easy… but at least it’s not Tammy Abraham, whose form makes his place in the team look unassailable.
