Michy Batshuayi determined to stay at Chelsea

Michy Batshuayi is going to reject any January offers to stay and continue to try and play at Chelsea.

The Sun tonight report that despite the inevitable list of teams being linked to the forward, he’s determined to stay put and happy to continue as Tammy Abraham’s backup.

He has 7 goals in 12 appearances in that role, an excellent return, and it seems Frank Lampard will be happy to keep him.

It all depends on whether Michy is determined to go and play, or if, as it seems, he’s willing to wait for his chance. As it stands, he’s getting the occasional game, and it only takes one injury to thrust him likely into the first team.

Perhaps that’s what he’s banking on. From our perspective, given his knack for goals in big games and the fact we can’t sign anyone else, keeping him is a no brainer. Come the summer, both he and we will have new questions to answer.
