Chelsea play Manchester City tomorrow, and today’s press conferences revealed some interesting team news on both sides.
Frank Lampard was asked to run down his own injury news after two weeks off, and it was mixed messages for Chelsea fans.
The Blues boss confirmed that Christian Pulisic was back in training after missing his international duty with the US thanks to a hip problem.
On the other hand Callum Hudson-Odoi, Pulisic’s competitor for the left wing slot, now has a hamstring issue.
🗣 Frank Lampard:
“Callum Hudson-Odoi is the one who has a hamstring issue that he picked up at the weekend. He will probably be out of contention for this weekend but we hope that it’s only something short-term with him.”#MCICHE pic.twitter.com/pMx0N0nmbA

As it stands, we’re tending towards thinking Pulisic will be fit, solving Lampard’s left wing selection issue straight away.
However, if both are out, there is a third solution.
Mason Mount played on the left wing at times earlier this season, when CHO was still injured and Pulisic not being picked.
Could that be a solution that we turn to in this game, especially as we look to add more midfielders to stop Pep’s powerhouse?
