Mason Mount ‘ready for competition’ at the end of the transfer ban

Frank Lampard is busy preparing his Chelsea team for the big Champions League clash against Ajax tomorrow night.

The Blues face the joint Group H league leaders in a match that will go along way to decide which team tops the group.

Both sides have 6 points so far and Chelsea will believe that they can once again show enough to get all three points from an Ajax side they beat 1-0 away from home just a couple of weeks back.

One player who has been central to that success is midfielder Mason Mount, and he’s been speaking alongside Lampard to the media today in the pre-match press conference, as reported by Football London.

It’s been reported today that the Court of Arbitration for Sport will hear Chelsea’s ban appeal on November the 20th, and it could mean that The Blues can sign players again in January if it is overturned.

This will of course, have an effect on Mount, but the Blues academy graduate is ready for the competition.

He said:

“We have had to deal with that throughout the academy. You have to work and show how good you are.

“We are all ready for competition, there is massive competition now. We want to win trophies, to be top of the league.

“I think us coming through together helped us. A lot of the experienced players helped us on the pitch.

“Whatever happens, happens. We have done well with the ban, the players coming through have to keep working hard.”
