Manchester City will have key player back for Chelsea game

Chelsea play Manchester City tomorrow, and today’s press conferences revealed some interesting team news on both sides.

Frank Lampard was busy talking about Jose Mourinho’s arrival and the various injury news updates from after the international break, while Pep Guardiola was asked about his own players’ fitness.

In quotes picked up by Sky Sports. the Man City boss confirmed that goalkeeper Ederson, who has been missing since the team’s Champions League game against Atalanta earlier this month, would be back for this weekend.

That’s a big blow for Chelsea, who would otherwise have seen stand in Claudio Bravo as a major weakness. The Chilean has looked really shaky between the posts for Pep’s team, while Ederson is a far more solid barrier.

The Brazilian is also known for his ability to play with his feet, providing a platform for the entire team to launch attacks from. The Citizens will be a more dangerous prospect with him in goal, that’s for sure.
