Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has been nothing short of a little inconsistent so far this season under Frank Lampard, sparking some concerns amongst the Blues fan base.
Last season Kepa performed much better, but this season he is starting to receive his critics.
It doesn’t help that he is Chelsea’s club record signing, so the pressure for him to show up is even more intensified.
Last night’s 2-2 draw in Valencia has also not helped his cause, and he was the subject of critics once again after the game.
He literally went from hero to zero in the space of minutes.
He pulled off a fantastic penalty save to keep Chelsea in a 2-1 lead. But then not long after he misjudged a cross that ended up going in his net off the post, and as a result threw away all three points.
It was a difficult one to judge because it was obviously a cross and was hugely fortunate for Valencia.
Kepa won't want to look at this again! 😬

However, Kepa will feel he could have done a lot better as he didn’t even really jump and looked to pull his hands away slightly.
Lampard reacted, via Football London.
He said:
“It certainly was a fluke.
“It makes it more difficult for the keeper. I think it came too high for him.
“I need to look at it, but Kepa is very honest with himself.
“It wasn’t a standard penalty save, it was a fantastic one. He did that.”
