Injuries mean Chelsea starlet could finally get his chance in Germany

Chelsea have often instigated some very successful loan moves over recent years, moves that have really made players who they are right now.

Most recent examples of course being the likes of Reece James, Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham, who after successful loan spells, have come into the first team this season and are making a massive difference.

Another highly rated youngster whom Chelsea believe has a big future at the club, is versatile midfielder Ethan Ampadu.

The Wales international has the added bonus of being able to play anywhere across the back or in midfield, and he put on yet another fine display for his national side this week.

His loan move though, has been an absolute disaster so far in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig.

The 19-year old has only made two appearances since arriving there in the summer, which is not good at all for his development.

However, he might be about to get further chances, with reported injuries of some regular heads in the Leipzig team.

The Standard report that captain and centre-back Willi Orban is out until next year with a knee injury, while fellow defenders Marcel Halstenberg and Nordi Mukiele are also struggling for fitness.

RB Leipzig’s chairman, Oliver Mintzlaff, also delivered some reassuring words, as reported by the same publication. He said:

“A premature return is not an option,” Mintzlaff told Bild. “[RB Leipzig head coach] Julian Nagelsmann will continue to develop Ethan in training so that he will certainly get his time in this long season.”
