Mateo Kovacic, after a wait of almost 150 games, finally scored a goal against Valencia on Wednesday night.
It was a crucial moment in the match of course, as we were 1-0 down and suffering. From that point on we looked better, and would go on to take the lead, but it was also clearly a massive moment for Kovacic.
He ‘s been brilliant in recent weeks, without the stats to show for it, so this was a deserved slice of glory.
He celebrated with an Instagram post where he confessed he had “almost gave up” on the “goal thing”… we’re glad he didn’t!
