Olivier Giroud has been sitting on the bench for a while now, and while he’s not made a fuss about it publicly, he’s clearly fed up.
Italian transfer insider Nicolo Schira, who is from the Di Marzio school of mysteriously well connected Serie A writers who know the ins and outs of what goes on, especially when it comes to clubs from that league.
Schira says that Giroud has told Chelsea he wants to leave, and that Inter Milan is his preferred destination.
You can see the Tweet from the Italian transfer insider here:
Oliver #Giroud asked to #Chelsea to be sold in January. His favourite destination remains #Inter, that have offered to french striker a contract until 2021. Talks ongoing. #transfers #CFC

Ideally we would like to keep him at the club, as any injury to Tammy Abraham or Michy Batshuayi would leave us very short up front. But we understand exactly why he wants to go. He’s not playing, and will trust Antonio Conte, who brought him to Stamford Bridge, to get the most out of him.
Whether Frank Lampard will agree to his wishes and weaken his squad is another matter however. A lot will depend on whether our transfer ban is lifted.
