Even Roy Keane has good words for Tammy Abraham

It’s not easy to prise praise from Roy Keane. Not only is he a naturally… critical person, he also gets asked to be a pundit basically on the basis that he will make some potentially viral disparaging comments about a player or manager.

That makes the praise Tammy Abraham got for his season so far extra impressive, coming from the legendarily fierce former Man U man.

Speaking on ITV, with his quotes collected by LondonFootballNews, Keane made it very clear how impressed he’d been by Tammy’s rise to the top, on the occasion of his first England goal.

“Outstanding,” he replied when asked for his assessment of Abraham this season.

“He’s gone out on loan, had to bide his time, and the key for any young player when you get an opportunity at a big club or an international, you’ve got to take it. He’s taken it. All credit to him.”

Along with Ashley Cole, the other pundit on duty last night, Keane was full of praise, and when you perform like the forward did last night it’s no surprise. Coming on as a sub, he did Tammy things – got into the box to turn home an easy goal from Jadon Sancho’s cross to grab his first international game.

He’s making of a career out of it, and he doesn’t look like slowing down.
