John Obi Mikel has been dishing the dirt on his old teammates on BeinSport tonight, and in quotes picked up by the Sun, he reveals who his “laziest” teammate was.
Mikel was a bridging player over several eras of Chelsea managers and players, so he plenty of colleague on the training pitches at Cobham over the years.
You might think a lazy player would be an unpopular one, with the fans at least. But the one Mikel chose was one who outlasted him at the club, and was loved until the moment he left – Eden Hazard.
“The laziest player I’ve ever worked with is Eden Hazard,” they quote him as saying. Well, not much wiggle room there. Hazard certainly isn’t know for his immense work rate, and he does enjoy returning from his summer break a little on the heavy side. But when you control a ball like him, nobody complains much.
They also ask him about his favourite Chelsea match, which he says is the 2012 Champions League final.
Not very original, Jon, but then again what else are you going to say?
