Clean sheet needed as inconsistent Chelsea defence’s old flaws creep back

Chelsea take on Crystal Palace at home tomorrow, a game that they will be expecting to one, and one that potentially allows them to make a big statement.

The Blues are coming into the game on the back of a thrilling draw in Europe in midweek, where they fought back courageously, but still allowed 4 goals into their own net in a vital game they should have been looking to keep as tight as possible.

The defence had been looking more stable in recent games, but old flaws rushed back on Tuesday, and it’s vital we stamp them out to improve the morale of our defence, and the struggling Kepa in particular.

Going into the international break on the back of another 3 points and a clear sheet would be a massive boost for everyone, especially as we head into a tougher run of games.

Goal shy Palace is a great opportunity for a shut out, but they shouldn’t be underestimated either. We won’t always be able to rely on our goals to bail us out.
