Chelsea won’t hear CAS conclusion for weeks

Chelsea will not know for another three weeks whether their appeal at CAS has been successful, according to a report this evening in the Daily Mail.

They say that after putting their petition at the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland to the panel, it could be a serious stretch of time before a decision is made. The Mail say it will be “the first half of December” before the ruling is made public.

The Blues have already served one of their two windows of transfer ban, and think that they’ve got a good chance of that being reduced to one (already served), allowing them to get stuck in to the transfer market in January.

It would only leave a few days between the decision and the opening of the window on January 1st, but you can be sure that deal making has been going on the whole time behind the scenes.

Whether or not it’s good idea for Frank Lampard to start splashing money around after having such success with academy products is another question.
