Chelsea key starter explains why he’s lucky to play for Frank Lampard

Chelsea have a lot of players from their youth academy in the team right now, and you would expect them to all be fully aware of how great it is to play for a club legend like Frank Lampard – and they are.

But it’s not just the kids from Cobham who appreciate the fact they’re playing for a living legend of the game. Even players who have come from abroad, like goalkeeper Kepa, are loving every minute under the rookie coach.

In quotes picked up on Sky Sports, the stopper made it abundantly clear what his feelings are:

“He is a coach that was, and is a legend in the club,” the former Athletic Bilbao man said.

“He was a very important player during his football career.

“Now he is in his second year as a coach but he is sharing all his experience. Everything he knows about football, and everything he has lived, gave to Chelsea, and the titles he won with them like the Champions League, the Premier League and all the possible trophies,” he went on.

“I am very lucky to have him as a coach,” he modestly concluded.

We feel lucky to have him as our club’s manager too. He exudes class, sets a great example for everyone around him, and for the moment at least, is getting excellent results.

We couldn’t ask for much more.

Kepa’s own form leaves a little to be desired, but with such a good coach in place, that can only improve.
