Chelsea defender in further injury setback out for another month

Chelsea have been hit with a number of injuries to their key players so far this season as a concerning pattern occurs.

Both N’Golo Kante and Emerson have been battling with reoccurring injuries throughout the season so far and just when they are deemed fit to return, they either further aggravate the injury, or pick up a new one.

The same thing has happened with defender Antonio Rudiger, who was bizarrely reported to be ‘fit to play’ by The Daily Mail just last week.

This week, The Express are reporting that he faces a further month out and is now expected to be out for the rest of November, after undergoing surgery on his groin problem on Tuesday.

The German international has literally played 45 minutes of development football so far this season and if this piece of news is true, is unlikely to be featuring much before Christmas.

On the plus side, Kurt Zouma and Fikayo Tomori have built up a great partnership together in his absence and Andreas Christensen has returned from his minor injury.

But still, Chelsea will be eager to get one of their more senior and influential players back on the pitch.
