Fikayo Tomori had been inserted into the Chelsea lineup already thanks to injuries, but his place in the team was really settled when he bent in a stunning goal against Wolves.
The defender’s superb strike has been nominated for the goal of the month award, and he’s up against some stiff competition from his fellow England players.
When asked about it in the press conference yesterday, Tomori admitted it was a “nice goal”, but also assured the assembled journos he wouldn’t be trying it again – because if he missed he would be getting in trouble with the gaffer.
Luckily he didn’t miss – good idea, Fik. Quit while you’re ahead.

Whose goal was better? ⚽🥅
Fikayo Tomori's long-range curler or Trent Alexander Arnold's set-piece strike? 🤔
