Pay Nevin has been speaking to the Chelsea official website about the players who are impressing him in this great run, and one name bubbled to the top in particular.
After a spell which has seem us pick up a few wins on the spin – and even a clean sheet at one point – the man who has drawn the ex-winger’s attention is Jorginho. The midfielder has stepped his game up this season and is really impressing everyone. Some had criticised the first season the Italy international had in England, but Nevin assures us he wasn’t one of them.
“To be honest I thought Jorginho was fabulous last season as well and didn’t buy into the no-forward-passing problem being his fault or even true. It was the style of the team,” Nevin wrote.
“He also controls games as well as just about anyone on the planet just now. Happily Frank agrees and has let him off the leash to be more positive and take a few chances going forward more quickly.”
So there we go – Pat never doubted. We definitely did at times, and frankly anyone saying they’ve always been happy with his performances must have a record-breakingly positive outlook on life.
Either way, it’s all in the past now, and he’s playing really well at the moment. Long may it continue.
