Report – Chelsea make Willian transfer decision with suitors lining up

Chelsea ‘do not have the will’ to renew the contract of Brazilian winger Willian, according to Calciomercato.

The 31-year old’s current deal at the club runs out in June 2020 and unless he signs a new contract before January, he is then free to negotiate terms with a new club.

It had been reported back in July that Chelsea and Willian ‘had agreed a new contract’ by the Evening Standard, but since then these reports have died out.

Mundo Deportivo ran a story earlier in the week claiming that Barcelona are set to renew their interest in Willian and will attempt to get him on a free transfer next summer.

But the report from Calciomercato believe that Juventus are the main club looking to secure the signature of the Chelsea man.

There is no clear report of why contract talks have stalled but it’s likely to do with the length being offered, Willian will want more, but Chelsea will offer just one-year.
