Reece James explains what’s next for him after first team return

The Chelsea boys have joined up with the England squads, and as well as seeing Tammy, Mason et al settle in with the senior team, it was great to see Reece James back with the U21s.

After picking up an injury with that same team at the start of the summer, it’s been a tough period for the right back. He capped off his return to action with a goal and two assists against Grimsby a couple of weeks ago, and then a start against Lille a week later, and now he’s ready for the next stage.

He explained in quotes on the Chelsea official website exactly what comes next now he’s starting to get back to fitness again.

“I’m only just getting back into the swing of things,” the defender said before revealing his next stage.

“My first step was to get back fit and now I’m here, I just need to keep improving gradually week-in, week-out. Getting injured is all part of the game and you just have to build yourself back up to get strong and fit.”

So after an appearance in the cup, it’s now been a week since he was in action, and he will be wanting to play 90 minutes at some point for England in this break hopefully, to keep him on the right track back to fitness.

This international break should be the perfect chance.
