Nicolas Pepe joined Arsenal from Lille in a club record deal worth £72 million this summer, as reported by The Guardian.
The 24-year old hasn’t exactly had the best starts to life in English football and is continuing to struggle in a physical league that is different to most.
He had another poor performance again last night as his side drew 1-1 away to Manchester United.
Pepe was a sought after talent and one of the clubs reportedly showing an interest before he joined Arsenal was Chelsea, as reported by many at the time including The Metro.
At the time there were many Chelsea supporters demanding that their club do all they can to bring the winger to Stamford Bridge, but right now, they’re feeling like they’ve dodged a bullet and saved themselves a chunk of money.
It’s safe to say that some Blues fans have started to admit a massive u-turn on their opinions on the Arsenal player.
FT Apology Statement:
My deepest apologies FT Community, my choice of words was poor. My actions unforgivable. I hope with this sincere apology you will understand that I am extremely regretful of what I said last season
Pepe is Walcott from Uber eats.
Not my winger.
Sorry.

No, it wouldn't. Yikes.
We 100%, saved £72m by not buying him.
Sané, Dembele, Sancho, Chiesa >>>>>>> Pépé.#CFC https://t.co/CYiEy2p6Tt

People arguing about Pepe and Maguire not being worth the money while we’re chilling with superior players in Tomori and Hudson-Odoi for free. Beautiful stuff

There was so much hype about Pepe & when Arsenal bought him it broke a few of my fellow Chelsea fans hearts. But the more I watch him the more I think maybe we were lucky that we didn’t buy him. Been so disappointing. #MUNARS

This is not being reactionary but Callum Hudson Odoi is better than Nicolas Pépé and that’s the absolute fact!
