Mason Mount shows off his “special move” once again in England win

Mason Mount started his first England game against the Czech Republic last week, but a quiet showing from the Chelsea star, combined with an overall disappointing display by the Three Lions as a whole saw the team returned to a more familiar setup in the game against Bulgaria last night.

That meant Ross Barkley back in the starting XI, and Mason on the bench. He did get to join the action as a sub however, and one thing he did in his brief time on the pitch really caught the eye.

He’s got a couple of goals in the Premier League already from his wild pressing in the final third, and almost managed another last night, chasing down the Bulgarian goalkeeper, nicking the ball off him but then totally skying it.

The shot was terrible, but the way he’d stolen it with his energy, speed and determination was notable. It’s becoming quite the signature move for the young Chelsea star. Long may it continue.
