Chelsea are simply pouring talented youth players out from their academy right now.
There literally isn’t room for the Blues’ youngsters to all get a shot. Plenty which are highly rated by the club, like Jonathan Panzo, have to move to try and get games.
That flow of players out to the first team and to other clubs has to be replaced lower down the chain, and picking up the best young talents is always a priority for the academy.
We did it with Ethan Ampadu and Billy Gilmour and we’ll do it again. That’s why it’s no surprise to see us linked with Ben Chrisene, the 15 starlet currently playing for Ampadu’s old team Liverpool, in the Daily Mail.
They say that Liverpool have moved ahead of us in the race for his signature in the latest twists of the saga, but we can point to a plethora of young players in the first team to encourage him that we’re the place to be.
Let’s see how this one develops.
