Joy for Jorgi but not cool for Christensen – Chelsea international report

Fear not Chelsea fans, we are almost over the international break and can start to look forward to the Blues next fixture.

However, we still have some games to get through and some more hope to give. Hope that no more key Chelsea players pick up any injuries, and hope that they put in more confidence boosting performances.

Reported by the Chelsea website, It was joy for Jorginho last night as he scored a penalty for Italy in their 2-0 victory over Greece in the Euro 2020 qualifiers. The Chelsea man broke the deadlock for Italy in his familiar penalty taking style.

Meanwhile his Blues goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga didn’t have so much joy for Spain, conceding a penalty late on and getting a booking for the foul. His side were 1-0 up and about to qualify for the Euros but ended up drawing 1-1 with Norway.

And of course, we cannot go an international night without yet another injury. This time it was Andreas Christensen limping off late on for Denmark in their 1-0 victory over Switzerland. Hopefully it isn’t serious, as it doesn’t appear to be.

Finally, Blues youngster Henry Lawrence was one of the goalscorers for England under-19s in a 4-2 win against Belgium. Clinton Mola was an unused sub. Goalkeeper Karlo Ziger played for Croatia under-19s in their 2-0 victory over Hungary.
