Ben Chilwell has fired a warning to Chelsea that Leicester are in the fight for the top 4 until the bitter end this season.
The left back has been a transfer target for Chelsea in the past, and they are likely to keep up their interest in the future. But for this season at least, he’s our competition, and his team are flying.
The Foxes’ 9-0 demolition of Southampton at the weekend was a real statement of intent, and they’re still sitting above Frank Lampard’s Blues in the table.
“Everyone in the league is waiting for Leicester City to slip. We’re here and we’re here to stay at the top of the league. We just need to keep working hard,” Chilwell commented.
We’re keen to see what else this impressive team under Brendan Rodgers can produce, and as long as they’re taking points off our rivals we’re happy.
We’ve still to face them at their place, after our 1-1 draw at home. We, and the other teams chasing the Champions League this season, have our work cut out catching them.
