Chelsea have tracked 18 year old talent – but they’re not the only ones

Sky Sport’s Lyall Thomas has just written a piece about Manchester City’s pursuit of Antonio Marin in which he mentions that Chelsea are also interested in the young Croatian with a Spanish name.

He’s broken into the Dinamo Zagreb team from it’s famously strong youth academy, and is staring to make in impact in his domestic league and the European game.

Still just 18, he looks a top prospect ready to take a step up and establish himself at the top level.

The article also mentions Villareal as well as City, and clearly it’s not going to be an easy pursuit for us even if our suggested interest is real. As a youngster, he would fit right into the youthful side that Frank Lampard is building, as we search for a long term player to replace Willian and Pedro on the other side to Callum Hudson-Odoi.

This is still a very faint rumour, but he’s a young prospect, and we wouldn’t be surprised if we track him for some time before making a move. But if we’re too slow – one of his other suitors might pounce.
