Chelsea first team player returns to training to give Frank Lampard big boost

The Metro are reporting that Emerson Palmieri is back in full training for Chelsea.

The left back picked up a thigh injury during last month’s international break, before returning in the subsequent game against Liverpool. That return proved to be premature, and he was forced off injured before the end of the first half.

Marcos Alonso was excellent in his absence, but Emerson’s good form was notable before his departure too. Frank Lampard will be delighted to have both back battling for minutes.

Emerson got the nod at the start of the season after both competed in the friendly games, and it will be interesting to see how the manager reacts now.

What will the Italy international have to do to get his place in the Premier League team back, given Alonso has barely put a foot wrong.
