Chelsea chasing unlikely target from Bournemouth

The Daily Mail have linked Chelsea today with a move for Lewis Cook.

The midfielder has finally begun to blossom on the South Coast, after a slow start to life in the Premier League following a move from Leeds.

Now Cook is buzzing, and beginning to turn heads with his impressive all round play in the Cherries midfield.

The 22 year old was hit by a bad knee injury in December, and has been back in action for just a month following a long layoff. Accordingly, you would expect any clubs interested in signing him to wait for him to prove his fitness long term.

We’re not sure we really see the Chelsea connection. He’s a nice little player, but we have so many young talents in central midfield, it’s hard to see him getting minutes when he’s competing with N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, Mason Mount, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Ross Barkley, Mateo Kovacic, even Billy Gilmour.

And then what happens to Tino Anjorin from the youth sides?

We think this is the kind of move Chelsea would have made in the past, but maybe will pass on now.
