Chelsea could be allowed to sign in January – but it might not be the best plan

Chelsea are still waiting to hear the date of their appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport named, despite the fact that the club have already served half of their transfer ban.

The Blues are expecting to see some reduction in their punishment, are given they’ve already had a window ban, that would likely mean that if any reduction is made, it would effectively end he punishment, allowing us to sign players in January, Football.London claim.

The question is – do we really want that to happen? The ban has forced us to finally use some of our young players, they are thriving and the club has really never seen such a wave of positive energy, from within and from outside.

Of course the squad can be strengthened, and there’s nothing more exciting than bringing in some top players. But given how well things are going, some Blues may be secretly hoping that CAS let us serve our full ban, just so we can carry on with this dream season.
